1969 Porsche 911 for sale
Current customer rating: (449 votes ) based on1969 Porsche 911E (built 5/21/69) and finished in its original Polo Red with black leather and Houndstooth front seats. Not only are 1969 "E" models rare but this is a sunroof-delete and the original radio still works!
I bought this car for my wife in 2012 but we have acquired several additional collector cars since. so we need to make room in the garage.
Less than 60K ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED miles. this matching numbers (original 2. 0 liter 901/09 engine #6291753 and matching 901/13 transmission #7196952) example is among one of the most rapidly appreciating and desirable early 911 long nose coupes. Documented service records go back to early in it's life confirming the miles and all work performed.
CAR HISTORY
Records I received with the car show the same owner from 1980 (perhaps earlier) until 2004. During that time. the car received regular maintenance and repairs such as brakes. new heater boxes. oil changes. rear main oil seal. fuel pump. batteries. distributor cap/rotor. fuses. ignition wires. horn. throttle linkage bushings. shocks. and other routine wear items.
The car was then sold to its next owner and receipts show that in 2008 the car received near front leather seat covers (houndstooth inserts). leather headrests. German carpet set (front/rear). and rear quarter panel covers from Autobahn Interiors (San Diego). This owner replaced the following: master cylinder. emergency brake & heater cables. motor mounts. wheel bearings. tie rods. pedal bushings. cleaned/repainted fuel tank. heater hand throttle. axles. rear shocks & struts. and had the car resprayed (Polo Red). The car changed again to the dealer I purchased it from in 2012.
RECENT MAINTENANCE
I had a PPI performed on the car and it showed only minor oil leaks so after purchasing it I decided to have the engine and transmission removed and a complete rebuild performed by a 40-year expert Porsche shop as this was my wife's weekend PCA car. Work performed under my ownership includes a fresh engine rebuild with itemized receipt. polished crankshaft. reconditioned heads. upgraded Carrera tensioners. disc brakes. transmission rebuild. steering rack boots. nbsp;horns and undercoat spray. The axle CV joints were cleaned and greased along with other suspension components.
I have the rebuild receipt for $16K (I negotiated down from $20K) and I even had the engine hardware re-plated in zinc as it would have been delivered from the Porsche factory. The original radio and speaker still work as do all gauges.
The car originally came with 14” Fuchs wheels but we bought a set of period correct 15” Fuchs and new Michelin tires (both sets come with the car as does its tool kit. and original Owners Manual).
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY DATA
Comes with Porsche Certificate of Authenticity that documents the following options in addition to the numbers matching engine & transmission:
6802 Polo Red (paint color)
9822 Leather (interior)
9222 ignition lock
9348 tinted windshield
9431 antenna / left
9435 engine noise suppression
9437 loudspeaker in dash
0004 Michelin tires
OTHER
The trim on the car is presentable but has minor swirls and the original door panels show normal wear for being a 47-year old car. The paint is nice (not "10 feet away paint"). but not concours.
This 911E is clean/correct and can actually be driven anywhere for PCA events or touring and has NO OIL LEAKS.
BID WITH CONFIDENCE AS I AM A 20-YEAR PCA MEMBER. AND 16-YEAR EBAY MEMBER WITH 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK.
Typo in CAR HISTORY as I meant to say "new" front leather seat covers.
On Oct-10-16 at 06:59:32 PDT. seller added the following information:I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY AS THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA WEBSITE AND I'VE ALREADY RECEIVED MULTIPLE OFFERS ON THE CAR. IF YOU WANT TO BUY IT -- BID EARLY & OFTEN OR CONTACT ME DIRECTLY. I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN FROM 10/12-1/15 BUT WILL RESPOND TO MESSAGES. THE NEAREST DEALER FOR A PPI IS PORSCHE OF SAN ANTONIO AND MY SERVICE ADVISOR IS MARCO.
On Oct-10-16 at 10:09:32 PDT. seller added the following information:CORRECTION: I goofed in the way I worded the ad. The original 14" Fuchs wheels (will old Pirelli tires) come with the car per the COA. The additional set of 15" Fuchs (with relatively new Michelin tires) currently on the car are available too -- however. I will need to recover the $2800 I have invested in the wheels so whoever buys the car also has right of refusal to purchase the 15" Fuchs set.
