It is a 1956 Lanchester Sprite pre production model which I believe is the last survivor and was  registered on 25. 1. 1957. The model was shown at the motor show and deposits taken but it never made it to series production due to the demise of Lanchester. This was at the time of the difficulties of Lord and Lady Docker and the Daimler board.

I have a large box of original drawings of the car components and also the drawing numbers books as there was no parts list produced to my knowledge.

I have owned the car since 1997 and have done much work to restore it to original condition including work on the 4 speed experimental  Hobbs Automatic gearbox.

The cars is the only unitary bodied Lanchester and has a 4 cylinder engine based on the 6 cylinder Conquest. I have had the steering rack rebuilt amongst other things and a complete repaint.

The car has the carpets that were in it when I bought it. probably not original and could do with replacement. =

Parts supply for brakes engine etc is not a problem as most parts are standard for cars of that period. or similar models  It is currently taxed and MOT'd.

The car is quite usable and we have travelled in it to Brittany for a Rally a few of years ago.

I will require a £500 deposit within 24 hours of end of auction and balance on collection in cash or cleared cheque before pick up. It may be possible to deliver in UK or just over the Channel to France for a mileage charge and and crossing fees.
