1986 Austin Rover Mini Moke RHD Automatic 2 Owners for sale
Current customer rating:
It comes with deep regret but due to unforeseen storage circumstances I am being forced to dispose of my sensational Mini Moke.
Given this Moke is a Rover product and approaching 30 years old I can confirm that its condition is nothing short of outstanding.
This Moke has never been fully restored and benefits from just the one respray circa 15 years ago.
It's formative years were spent in the south of France then brought to the UK by the original owner and garaged ever since.
Thus the body remains sound. straight and unencumbered by our harsh British winters which invite a neglected Moke to rapidly fall to pieces.
They say less is more and this Moke never fails to attract admiring glances and positive comments wherever it goes.
One invariably returns to this strange contraption with a small crowd taking pictures and fondly remembering their youth in Cyprus or other British colonial outposts of yore.
Mokes make people happy and smile! Recently the Moke has received a brand new SU carburettor. fuel pump. thermostat. a service. four brand new Minilite wheels/Yokohama tyres and a complete hood.
Perhaps the ultimate addition is its automatic box. I am generally no fan of automatics but in a Moke it makes a great car even better as you simply engage drive and let it transport you around town with minimum effort thus maximum fun!
This car retains its original 1000 cc engine which pulls extremely well. has no leaks. no untoward noises and does not smoke. anyone can fix a Mini with three spanners and a screwdriver! There are not that many sound places to put ones money but with its kerb weight of 645 kg's thus 40 mpg plus fuel economy. 100% parts availability and relative rarity I'm pretty sure you'll not go far wrong with this 60's motoring icon!
A Moke is utterly classless and is as much at home on the Cote D'Azur as it is parked up with its roof unfurled on a Notting Hill side street.
At the end of the day it simply cannot can't be denied that Mokes are cool! Viewing is welcome in Greenwich London by prior appointment.
