1953 Buick Super 8 Woody Wagon
This all original 1953 Buick Super V 8 Wagon is a two owner California car with just over 70. 00 original miles on it.
Features include original “Nail-Head” 170 HP 322 cubic inch V 8. Dyna Flow automatic transmission. power steering. four wheel hydraulic drum brakes. wire wheels. front and rear coil suspension. 12 volt system. Selectronic radio. original wood and original interior.
This is a “numbers matching” wagon all the way.
This is 1 of only 1. 30 woody wagons made in 1953 representing the milestone first year of the V 8 and the last year for the American woody wagon.
The factory cream paint had some stains on it from storage blankets left on it in a southern California garage and so we had the legendary SAM FOOSE restore the cream paint back to its original beauty.
Otherwise an all original unrestored wagon from bumper to bumper.
Representing Buick's 50 th anniversary. this 1953 long and elegant body style was the signature design of the famous Harley J. Earl whose name is etched on the NASCAR Daytona 500 trophy.
He is remembered as the first styling chief in the US automobile industry and responsible for the long and low design trend of American autos.
With only 1. 30 of these manufactured. this is 1 of just a handful of original surviving 1953 woody wagons still on the road and in factory condition.
The innovative Harley Earl design and the fact that it is the last of the American manufactured woody wagons
makes this one of the most desirable and sought-after woody station wagons ever produced.
