EQUIPMENT
All-aluminium bodyshell. Porsche 914 engine. Five-speed Porsche gearbox. Front and rear disc brakes. Aluminium bucket seats upholstered in leather. Speedometer. Driver's TRS three-point harness. Driver and passenger lap belts. Fire extinguisher. Engine cut-off. Spare key.

EXTERIOR
This exceptional RS61 Spyder has been painstakingly recreated over a period of ten years. The bodyshell has been expertly fashioned solely from aluminium resulting in an unparalleled and authentic finish. not to be confused with more commonplace fiberglass reproductions. The metallic silver paintwork is flawless throughout and presents with a beautiful glossy sheen.

The all-aluminium body was formed over a wooden buck. which was created from a 3D scan of a genuine 1960 car (chassis number 718-055). As a result this example's dimensions are a perfect match to the original 718 on which it was modeled. This is without doubt a very special example based on one extremely rare motorcar. The attention to detail throughout is outstanding. and given that a genuine RS61 sold for £1. 9m last year. it offers fantastic value for money too.

INTERIOR
The interior is sparse. but fits the bill of a lightweight open-top racecar from the sixties particularly well. As with the exterior almost every element within the cabin has been crafted to match the originals. The bespoke CDS tubular space frame was replicated from the original vehicle. and is fully TIG welded.

The aluminium seats are upholstered in perforated red leather and look gorgeous against the bare metal internals and painted dash. A driver's TRS three-point harness conforms to modern safety regs. but can be tucked away and replaced with a period style lap belt if desired. Originally these cars were not equipped with speedometers. and so a genuine 356 speedo has been fitted for UK road legality.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Removing the rear panel reveals a 2056cc Porsche 914 engine. which benefits from a CSP upright cooling conversion and produces approximately 130hp. It features a dry sumped oil system. twin Dellorto DRLA 40 carbs. a Mallory Unilite distributer and coil. sports camshaft. and a lightened crank. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a five-speed dogleg manual ‘box (also from a 914). along with a 911 clutch. The exhaust is stainless steel.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The Porsche sits on the correct set of 15-inch wheels finished in silver. They are shod in matching period-style Blockley tyres. which have seen little over 350 miles of wear. The brakes have been upgraded to discs both front and rear. with a dual circuit master cylinder and Goodridge stainless steel brake lines. The car also features front and rear double wishbones with rod end bearing joints. front and rear adjustable anti roll bars. and Pro Tech aluminium coil over shock absorbers.

HISTORY FILE
The 718 project began nearly ten years ago when the current owner (and builder of the car) completed a three-dimensional scan of an original RS60 Spyder (that particular car was raced at Le Mans in 1960 by Carel de Beaufort and now resides in a private museum in Germany). Since that time the Porsche offered for sale here has been meticulously constructed from the ground up.

Despite displaying a replica of the chassis plate from the original vehicle (no. 718-055) this car does also retain a genuine Porsche VIN. and is registered as such. The history file is complete with the V5C. recent MOT certificate. dyno readout. and extensive photo documentation showing the vehicle at all stages of the build. It has covered just 352 miles since completion.
