1970 Plymouth Cuda : The redesign for the 1970 Barracuda removed all its previous commonality with the Valiant. The original fastback design was deleted from the line and the Barracuda now consisted of coupe and convertible models. The all-new model. styled by John E. Herlitz. was built on a shorter. wider version of Chrysler's existing B platform. called the E-body. Sharing this platform was the newly launched Dodge Challenger however. no sheet metal interchanged between the two cars and the Challenger. at 110 inches (2. 00 mm). had a wheelbase that was 2 inches (51 mm) longer than the Barracuda. The E-body Barracuda was now "able to shake the stigma of 'economy car'. " Three versions were offered for 1970 and 1971: the base Barracuda (BH). the luxury oriented Gran Coupe (BP). and the sport model 'Cuda (BS). The Cuda had the 383 ci 335 hp (250 k W) SAE gross (same as Dodge's 383 Magnum) as the standard engine. It also had the 440 ci 4-barrel Super Commando. the 440 ci 6-barrel Super Commando Six Pak. and the 426 ci Hemi.
I know you just got super excited becuase our asking price is a good $20 k to low . sorry! We obviously know that certian criteria are important to some buyers. Therefore we have already adjusted the price far more than needed for this Cuda's lack of documentation and original engine. This Plymouth Cuda does have a period correct engine. was restored to exact build specs. and is just outstanding on all levels. Drives great. sounds great. and is exceptionally clean to say the least. It's actually so clean that it is noted that this Tor-Red Cuda spent the majority of the last 9 years in a museum. The 390 horses flowing threw the 440 Six Pack just feels "right" with one hand on the wheel and the other shifting through all 4 gears via the Pistol Grip Shifter. Further highlights and options include Track Pak (A 33). Shaker Hood - Carb Fresh Air Pkg (N 96). Wood Wheel. Dual Exhaust. Factory AM Radio. Road Lamps. Chrome Bumpers. Tire Tools. Space Saver Spare. 15" Factory Wheels. and NEW Firestone Wide Oval F 60-15 Tires! Additional options can be viewed on the Govier decoding report attached. Now NADA high may be off a little at $137. 10 so we'll go with the Ave number of $77. 25 even though this vehicle is FAR ABOVE average. Current VMR comes in at $118 k and the always accurate CPI black book shows an August 2013 value of $88. 50. So when I say this exceptional Cuda is a
steal
