Engine rebuilt with new shells. rings. head gasket. timing chains. oil pump etc etc etc. 20 Kms only on it.

I bought this car last year with the engine in the boot ! Took my time and found the issue. The HG had gone. Rather than just change the HG. I replaced all shells. had the crank inspected. new piston rings. new HG. new gasket set throughout. All rebuilt and serviced with new filters and oil.

The engine runs really well. pulls well and drives great. Is quiet and smooth. Starts well but does have a slightly noisy starter motor as seems to be the nrom on these S4's. Works fine though.

Interior has had both seats fully recovered with the top quality Classic Alfa replacement seat covers ( same as factory ) and new foam so they really are like new. Carpet is clean and tidy. dash all good and complete. electtrics all work with the exception of the speedo which was working last week ! Will try to sort that.

It comes complete with a factory hard top and a good mohair hood. Both fit well.

The body is very good generally and original. There are a couple of surface bubbles. one by the rear number plate and one on trailing edge of off side front wheel arch. Some small scratches on rear bumper where I let the jack down whilst it was touching the wall ! and a laquer patch peeled on the front bumper. Otherwise it polishes up well and looks pretty.

This is a right hand drive car. Now. all Spiders from around 1977. if right hand drive. are conversions. Alfa only made factory right hand drive up to 77. After that two companies did them. Bell and Colvill and Sea King. The only one that was factory authorised was the Sea King and came with a glove box and a better quality conversion. This one is a Sea King and retains the original plaque on the door jam to prove it.

My apologies. Just checked through the history for the car. It has all previous MOT's. The mileage would appear to be 124000 KMS which is about 73000 miles. The speedo currently shows 114000 KMS. I therfore summise that it has had a speedo head change. However. the last MOT was in 2008 which is when it was taken off the road and as such 124000 KMS would be an accurate figure. The engine has done less than 20 miles since the rebuild !

Gearbox all good apart from 2nd gear synchro as normal. Fine if not hurried on the down shift.
