1984 Classic Austin Mini Van 95L Canary Yellow for sale
Current customer rating: (547 votes ) based onHere up for sale is my long term project. Its a 1984 Austin Mini Van. originally Tahiti blue. I bought 3 years ago for the sum of £2750. This project has taken alot of my time and money. and it is with great regret that is now for sale. The van was intended to be a twin to my Canary yellow saloon. so I didnt rush any stage of the build. I no longer have the time I had. nor the love for minis. as I have moved onto american vehicles and have a yank project that is taking up all of my time and money. I am however in no great rush to sell and will not be accepting silly offers for it. I spent £2000 after stripping the van having new panels welded in at Mantis Mini specialists. which I have the receipt for and will be in the photobucket photos. The van comes with a 1275cc manual engine. that has been removed but not touched since. It ran fine. didnt smoke. knock. and was responive when revved. I did drive the van very briefly before starting the restoration. and apart from a clutch issue. possibly a seized slave cylinder. it ran fine. SO the engine requires freshening up to be worthy of being put back into this van. but i do not believe it needs rebuilding by any means. I have a photobucket file containing many photos. which will explain alot of the rebuild in theirselvs. The van is finished in BS309 canary yellow. and is clear over base. not 2k. there is one back door left that needs painting as that door was too far gone and i didnt have a replacement at the time it was in the bodyshop. It has been stripped back to bare metal in all the necassary places. etched. high built. stone guarded underneath. guide coated and wet sanded and then the clear over base. the roof and arches are gloss black with "violent yellow" metal flake in the lacquer which looks insanely good. Both front and rear subframes have been completely stripped . sandblasted. painted in 2K top coat after being etched etc. and rebuilt with all new parts. Genuine AP calipers to fit the 10x6 Minator alloys. which are finished in a graphite grey with a "holographic" flake in the lacquer. Almost £1000 was spent on just prep materials and paint. 3 clock center binnacle is present and in excellent condition.
the amount of time that has gone into the body and paint is unreal.

Things I KNOW I still needed.

I do have one but it has a hole cut in it and looks bodged. )chrome kick plates for inside doorsrubber sill trimignition barrel and handles (ive lost the keys!! but will keep searching so fingers crossed)roof gutter trim door mirrorsexhaust systemspark plugsthermostatrear no. plate bracketsno. plate lightsshock absorbers ( gaz shocks pictured not included)
id say 95% of all the things needed to finish it are present. some things arent photographed that i do have. as its all in the boxes. Any serious buyers will be coming to see it though im sure and will see upon arrival whats what.
This is a project so it still needs putting back together. it is a rolling chassis. Panels not fitted. engine not fitted. Will need trailering. and a vehicle to stuff all the parts into! i will wrap all the panels very securely with blankets and/or bubblewrap. and all boxed refurbed items will be seperated with bubble wrap to keep them from scratching each other.
Im sure there is lots ive missed. please feel free to message me with serious enquieries and I will respond ASAP.
Thankyou.
