1959 STANDARD ENSIGN FOR EASY RESTORATION for sale

Standard Ensign 1700 cc Four Cylinder Petrol Four speed floor change gearbox Ist registered September 1959 In need of light restoration I have a spare boot lid for it This car was purchased new by a farmer near Taunton. Somerset.
He drove it until he gave up driving in 1974. it was put away in his barn and dry stored until March this year.
It is absolutey complete. but will obviously need restoration It is very sound considering its Fifty Seven years old I've had a go at getting it running. had it cranking and firing but wouldn't quite pick up and run. It's low on compression and I suspect if the head was pulled off. valves reseated and piston rings freed up. it will run without to much effort Oil light goes out on cranking I have a complete head gasket set for it All parts are readily available and not expensive Brakes and clutch are not working at present. they will need cylinders overhauling.
This is a completely unmolested car and will make a great useable classic for the right enthusiast. it is very rare A new log book will need to be applied for. relatively easy procedure.
I have the necessary forms for this I am open to offers. but am looking to get near to £1495 for the car Call Chris on 01822 834176 or 3 I can deliver at £1 per mile from PL 18. subject to prior arrangement
