1965 Austin FX4 Classic Black London Taxi Cab (Restored!) for sale

This is an original right hand drive London Taxi. It seats 7 people.
5 In back (3 on the bench seat. with 2 jump seats) There are 2 seats up front.
The car was painstakingly restored by British Eurotech Auto's in Torrance California. utilizing all original parts. by a mechanic who had worked at the original Hackney Garage in London!
The seats are leather. and the cream and brown hounds tooth headliner kicks it up to an elegant but still fun experience.
There is a glass sliding divider between the front and back.
All the brakes. gear shift. electrical and starters are new. The engine was completely rebuilt from parts shipped from London.
The Original Austin Hubcaps are also on. as well as new original wing mirrors.
The clutch cylinder has been replaced.
I added a second battery to assist in starting.
It has never not started!
There is a heater in the front and a separate heater in the back. The trunk is large and holds the car cover. (Included in price)
The TAXI light on the roof lights up and looks good.
Top speed is about 65 mph but 50-55 is comfortable.
The Fare meter reads in Shillings.
There is some rust on the chrome bumpers.
I never intended for this to be a show car.
There are a couple of dings. and some of the rubber seals on the windows are very dry. However. the car itself runs perfectly and has been maintained to be my second reliable car.
It's a ton of fun to drive. especially when going out for a night with friends. It always gets smiles and stares from people.
Most parts are also available through KIP Motors in Texas and they are very friendly and helpful.
If you live in Los Angeles County. you can keep it registeredat the agency I use. as a Picture Vehicle for film. television and print work. and it goes out for about $1000. 00 per day on film shoots.

from Jason, dated 19 august 2015Beautiful looking Austin FX/4. I remember riding in a similar one while I was in England with my parents several years ago. I'd buy one for myself if the condition was right, I could afford it, and parts were available. Maintenance is everything in keeping it running correctly. The only thing I'd change would be the fare indicator, that shows "shilling" and "pence." I'd replace it with "dollars" and "cents."
