A regular London to Brighton contender this can has made the run on numerous occasions performing with aplomb.
In the '80's the car was found in France by Noted Darracq specialist & guru the late Mr Ron Knight. He embarked upon a preservation & restoration program leaving the car in the fine fettle in which we find it today.
The car is very charming with lots of patination giving a very authentic feel to the body. The car comes with VSCC Dating certificate number 2170 a requirement for the London to Brighton run.
The car has most of the usual L 2 B cues with plenty of Brass & a very sit up & beg driving position. On occasion the car has made the journey with no less then four occupants on board.
A copious set of notes made from various runs over the past couple of decades come with the car & make for excellent reading. They detail the trials & tribulations of various runs & running repairs made a few times to allow the car to get to Madeira Drive by 4 pm. There is also a detailed notation of the works done to the car under the last couple of ownerships.
We are currently entering the car for the 2013 run. so it will come with a complete entry & ready to perform.
The car sits on recent beaded edge tyres mounted to artillery style spokes. A spare model T ford Trembler coil comes with the car. Universal joints have been re-bushed. the radiator removed & re-soldered & the lugs checked etc etc. Big end mains have been white metaled & rebored in 2012. The water pump has also seen attention at the same time. A new valve guide was done in 2009.
The car will be in stock at our Grays showrooms in a few weeks.
