SUZUKI GSXR 1000 BIKE-ENGINED SUZUKI ST 90K PICK-UP, RAT TRUCK, MOT'D, PROJECT for sale

For auction is a 1986 (first registered 27/2/1986) Suzuki ST 90 K pickup project fitted with a 2002 Suzuki GSXR 1000 cc motorbike engine. The engine is from an ex-track bike that has been fitted and tuned with a Yoshimura top-end. The engine has been fitted to the rear of the driver's cab. along with the alloy race fuel tank. under an aluminium checker plate cover. A Yoshimura shortened end can has been fitted to the exhaust that exits to the rear of the driver's door. The gearbox is six speed sequential via the original gear stick (1 back. 5 forward). No reverse gear has been fitted.
The pickup has been dry stored since 2009. The engine has just been serviced and an MOT passed. The pickup has been test driven for 10 miles. the engine ran very well. Acceleration is extremely quick. the speed was tested up to 60 mph at 6. 00 rpm (legal limit on the road). higher speeds appear possible. The GSXR rev counter (including the neutral and warning lights) is fitted to the top of the dashboard. Both the Suzuki pickup and motorbike speedometers are fitted but neither work. A satnav may be used as a speedo.
The pickup is fitted with a Ford Escort RS 2000 rear axle and brakes. It has four Minilight alloy wheels fitted with Toyo Proxes R 888 tyres (used for less than 100 miles). The wheel arches have been extended to accommodate the wider wheels.
This pickup is very solid. Some bodywork rot has been removed and new metal welded in its place. There is a little surface rust here and there on the bodywork. see pictures. The original paint is in reasonable condition but where the welding has been done it is painted with primer.
The logbook is present. It still lists the vehicle with the original 797 cc engine details.
Please be aware that this is a running but drivable project with an MOT so it may be used as is or further restored.
