We are very pleased to offer this stunning and very rare 1970 Austin Mini Cooper S. 1275 cc. Finished in Glacier white this Cooper S has been very well preserved throughout its 46 year life and has covered only 36 k from new which is supported with a service history folder which stretches right back through the Minis history. in that time it has only had four keepers. the current one for seven years who also knew the previous two keepers. This S has just been recommissioned after 6 years of dry storage and has been freshly painted inside and out and has had the cylinder head and carbs rebuilt. it passed the MOT without a single advisory. The MK 3 Cooper S is a real drivers car and this one is certainly that. its not a restored trailer queen. its an original. genuine matching numbers survivor that still has all its original character and charm.

The MK 3 Cooper S is a very rare sight these days and their values continue to rise as they are now a very collectable variant as is any Mini with the Cooper S badge. Subtle styling means that these machines can really surprise people when there out on the open road. The only real tell tale sign is the discreet boot badge and of course the twin tanks. Only 1572 were ever made and very few remain in this original condition.

On the road this Cooper S will not disappoint you. i absolutely love driving this Mini. the acceleration is very brisk. make no mistake. this Cooper S really flies. the engine is super smooth. holds a very strong oil pressure and is a mated to a smooth gearbox. It has servo assisted disc brakes so it stops as well. Handling and road holding is sublime on its original Hydrolastic suspension. the uprated system used on the S makes it one of the best handling Minis ever made.

The interior is also very well preserved. and testament to this Coopers condition its all original except for a period Astrali steering wheel. it also has a period Motorola radio and an original internal release bonnet catch. The 130 mph speedo is the only real give away to this Minis intentions. Externally it has a stainless clip on mirror and Minilite wheels that have been on the Cooper for many years.

This Cooper has a very solid unrestored shell. as you can see from the images its in very good condition. Its the original shell with the correct FE number in place. Chassis and commission numbers are also present.

This Cooper S is fully serviced and has a full MOT and is ready to go. show and be driven and enjoyed.
