1987 BMW 3-Series

1987 BMW e30 325is. Red with nice black leather interior. Put this back together after purchasing with broken timing belt. Previous owner had just installed Junk yard motor for broken belt. and they didn't install a new belt. so 3 months later it broke. Is a nice 87 date code motor with no ring groove (still had crosshatch in cylinders) and newer 90 date code head.   All intake and exhaust valves and seals were replaced. as were two rocker arms and nice 3 angle valve job and some light port work. Six brand new fuel injectors and new fuel lines. All rockers and cam lobes were touched up with a wet stone and polished. New water pump. radiator. all belts hoses. front main seal and oil pump shaft seal. Motor now has about 40k miles since rebuild. just checked the valves and all were fine. All the calipers have been rebuilt with stainless lines and both Ebrake cables and Shoes. Both front hubs have been replaced. as well as rear wheel bearings. Driveshaft was rebuilt. as were both rear half shafts. Transmission and rear diff seals were done. Replaced plastic shift linkage bushings with sintered Bronze shifts better than new. A/C works well with rebuilt compressor. and r134 expansion valve all new seals (NO LEAKS). All factory speakers have been replaced with POLK audio components with new 12 gauge speaker wiring. with a SONY receiver and a 700watt 4 channel Sony amp. Alpine 500watt amp and SUB all professionally done with 2 gauge cable. Alternator was replaced with rebuilt 135amp for the Stereo. Brand new Stainless cat back exhaust. Beautiful refinished rally wheels. done with PPG EPOXY primer even in the bead area. and the original spare. which looks like it's never been on the ground.   I have well over $6500 just in parts and hundreds of hour's labor. The only thing this car needs to make perfect is a paint job. Any rust has been taken care of. Inside the lower front fenders are rust free but have been done with POR-15 as well as all the brake dust shields and the core radiator support which was resprayed with PPG Concept after treatment and the front spoiler was resprayed.   The trunk seal and rear taillight gaskets also were done to provide a waterproof trunk as well as POR-15 treatment and PPG Concept spot respray of any rust and new LED license lamps and lenses. Just about everything has been done. It's got Bilstein sport shocks. Does have crack in windshield. already purchased OEM rubber for it. and ordered new BMW windshield but NLA. Safelight will install new windshield for $250. but I was going wait to do it when I painted it.   Additional pictures upon request including any rusted areas that were fixed with new metal and POR-15 (see Battery BOX picture).   Don't really want to sell. I built this as a daily driver and the stereo is unbelievable. The odometer issue in the report is an error. someone entered it wrong. Really this car has only had two owners. Original owner got new. moved all over the US with it. Sold it after the belt broke to next door neighbor. who took parts off for their e30. he never got it running. I got it. rebuilt it. drove for 3 years. then gave to my daughter to replace the AUDI a4 that I gave her. She just got x's X3. So I got it back. All the wearable components have been replaced in the last 40k miles. Of course it has a key-fobe remote to lock/unlock doors and arm theft alarm. Will need a new belt in the next 20k miles. I will install a new belt at sale if needed. You can drive this anywhere. these cars will go forever. Mobile one did a test where they put a million miles on one. The only maint was replacing the belts and a diff. Ebay won't let me supply the link. Just lookup Million mile 325 on youtube. I use Mobile One 15w50 exclusively. except for the e46 M3 that gets Castrol TMS 10w60.   I have another one that i got with 150k miles. now it has over 350k miles. never had to do anything but replace timing belts. So I have three more e30's! Car is for sale locally. so auction may end early.
