Built in 1948 this Daimler uses a four-speed Wilson pre-selector in tandem with a Daimler Fluid Flywheel rather than a conventional manual or automatic gearbox. Gears are selected by hand before a “change pedal” is used to enact the shift.
The DB 18 has been fully restored and is in perfect working order. it is kept in a garage and only used for pleasure when it isn't raining. the car works perfectly starts on the button and has been 100% reliable.
The inside and outside have all been restored to a very high standard only 4 years ago.
She drives very well and has only just been serviced. No MOT is required for this car due to its age. Tyres are very good.
This car looks as good in real life as it does in these pictures. there are two problems i must point out.
During transportation the sun roof got lost. I have made a temporary sunroof. this fits in the car perfectly. causing no problems and hardly anybody notices it. it has been made in such away that when you locate the correct sunroof it will be able to be inserted. no damage has been done to the car. /
Parts of exhaust pipe will need replacing shortly
