1960 Morris Mini Minor Mini Cooper

     This 1960 Morris Mini Minor is a genuine early production North American-spec early LHD Mk1. Unlike so many questionable Minis out there. this Mini is a genuine car with a British Heritage Certificate showing its original Dob in September of 1960.   There are lots of these cars which have been backdated or have fraudulent chassis numbers or they are RHD or just have tacky mods… One of the great things about this car is that it is a genuine 1960 LHD car that has been in North America for 56 years. Few Minis can say that. Overall it is a fun and fast Mk1 Mini.
    This vehicle was previously owned by hardcore Mini enthusiast which we understand did lots of the original work himself. He owned it for 20 years and always kept it inside. It was given a bare shell rotisserie restoration in the year 2000. The car over the 16 years held up amazing but acquired some small dings. scratches. the bumpers had some dents. We set out to make it look like new again and gave it a full cosmetic and mechanical refresh.   The whole car was again painted with PPG paint in Persian Blue. The car was originally born cherry red and black interior. Although this Mini is done to look clean and correct it is not all original. nbsp;nor was it restored to be. It is built to be quick. to be enjoyable and as period looking as possible. The motor is a period fully redone 1275cc with perfect compression all around and the disk brakes bring it closer to Cooper S performance. overall interior and exterior presentation is very clean and period correct.   The carburetor is a single 1. 75 SU. This makes the power band much easier to use and the engine runs very strong with a nice idle. it also has a mild cam which makes the idle sound a little more aggressive. Sounds great.
     The vehicles paint. fit and finish is an example of great workmanship from a professional doing it 40 years. It is straight without fish eyes. drips or overspray. All doors close and open perfectly.  The car is covered with Dynamat on the inside and outside part of the fire wall. the underside of the hood. the trunk and all along the inside floors under the carpeting. All the outside lights and inside lights work perfectly. The simple dash of the Mk1 is great to look at and drive behind. We believe there is just something beautiful about the simplicity of it.
