I have a 1954 Standard Vanguard ute with a 4 cylinder Fergy diesel motor that I must sell.
It is road registered (car club concessional registration) and running.
The brakes. clutch and front suspension have been reconditioned by the local Standard Triumph specialist. the rear tray floor rebuilt and strengthened. the starter motor rebuilt (still has the original "manual engage" system).
All work is documented.
The body is in good condition with a few dents and scrapes but nothing serious. There are some minor rust patches (in tail gate and corners of mudguards) but is generally sound.
All glass is intact.
It has a "split windscreen" and electric wipers. All five wheels have good tyres.
The paint has crazed and cracked on the bonnet and a few other places.
It has been rust treated but will eventually need more attention.
Unfortunately I am unable to continue with the restoration so am looking for someone who can.
This is a unique vehicle. as I believe that Standard Motors UK built less than 2000 utes with the Fergy diesel motor as factory fitted. and some found homes on W. A. farms in the 1950 s.
I live in Western Australia. and to the best of my knowledge. we are the only the second family to own this vehicle since it was first registered in 1955.
The purchaser will need to arrange own pick up.
