Current customer rating:
1960 Rover 100. This well maintained. regularly driven car was the Tamworth Vintage Car Club's “Post War Car of the Year” for 2014. The body is rust-free and shows well in its distinctive black and white livery. The red interior is in original condition although the front seat leather has split in places. The door trims and roof lining are undamaged and the back seat is beautifully patinated. The original carpet is worn and faded but complete and quite serviceable. The timber is excellent and the period radio lights up but makes no sound. The car has proven to be very reliable having done a number of 700-1000 km (Tamworth/Sydney/Port Macquarie return etc) trips plus local club runs. This car has an interesting history and would make an enjoyable. charming and inexpensive family club car.
The car starts quickly. cold or hot. does not overheat. idles and runs smoothly and uses virtually no oil between its six monthly oil changes (filter every 12 months). The king pins need topping up every so often (depending on use) and the electric fuel pump needs the occasional tap with a rubber hammer (in the English manner). I have sealed the front windscreen and it now seems water tight.
The car comes with its original owner's manual. a CD version of the maintenance manual as well as a parts catalogue. It has a Flashlube system fitted for trouble free running on unleaded petrol. I have updated it with later hubcaps but still have the originals. with trim rings. which will go with the car.
This is a reluctant sale however I have bought another British car and need the garage space.
The car is located in Tamworth NSW. I will assist the buyer in transportation. at the buyer's expense.
