Jaguar Heritage. Classic Cars and Motorcycles Auction at Kempton Park. TW 16 5 AQ
This Jaguar 3. 5 Litre Saloon is Concours condition (or very close). is a matching numbers car and has an interesting past.
Originally registered in 1948 to Jaguar Cars Limited. This was the Car for Mr A Whittaker Chairman of Jaguar Cars. As this was to be his car he apparently specified some special features for "his" Car such as the unusual Leather Pigskin interior. Although the car has been completely restored. the original rear seat back is still present with all the other seats re-trimmed to match. The Car was then sold directly from the Jaguar Cars Limited in December 1949 and was never sold through a dealer network. All of the above has been verified by documents from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust.
The complete pictorially verified restoration started in 1982 by Mr David Priest who restored with meticulous detail (as shown by the drawings he created to have parts specifically manufactured to original specifications) over a long period. It was remarkable and painstaking vigil however ill health required that the restoration was completed by Marque specialists "David Davenport Cars" (to an equally high standard) some 22 years after it was started!
Although as stated the Car is built very closely to original specifications it does benefit from a very tastefully installed Kenlowe Electric Fan.
Today the Car is still in Excellent condition and full running order with nearly new Blockley Tyres. original style Battery. rare original Cigar Lighter etc etc. A particular Highlight is the complete and impeccable Toolkit in the boot. surely one of the best toolkits anywhere
With the Car comes a significant file of documents including an original Handbook (instruction Book). original Service Manual. Green Log Book (continuation). many Tax Discs. MOT's etc plus Production Records and other general documents.
Guide price £50. 00 to £60. 00
