Carol Shelby wanted to return to Le Mans and beat Enzo Ferrari with a car of his own design. However. the Shelby Cobra had too much drag to achieve the top speeds on the Mulsanne Straight needed to beat Ferrari in the GT Class. Enter the Daytona Coupe. With its aerodynamic hatchback shape and new top speed. it not only won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. but also went on to make Shelby the first American constructor to win the FIA World Sportscar Championship in 1965. This Factory Five replica beautifully pays homage to that legacy. The flowing silhouette of this racer is draped in a beautiful maroon with black racing stripes. sitting atop 17” Halibrand replica wheels and Nitto 555 tires.
