1951 Split Rear Window Beetle for sale

Here is my deluxe split rear window Beetle for sale. It was built at Wolfsburg. Germany on 1st August 1951 and shipped to Sweden where it was registered in Stockholm. It was stored in a barn from 1973 until 2009 when it was discovered and imported to Belgium. From there it was sold to its first UK owner in Essex. It was re-commissioned and lowered and used for a short time. It was then offered for sale and I bought it in 2010. A four year restoration was then undertaken to bring it back to stock condition. This included a bare metal re-spray. re-building of the 25 bhp engine (not the original unit but dating from May 1952) and replacement of many parts including brakes. king & link pins. shockers. rubber seals. body trim. carpets. bumpers. tyres etc. (Full list available) Very little welding was required and the floor pans. heater channels. inner wings are all virtually untouched. The front & rear lids. doors and three of the wings are all original to the car. Correct rear lights and working grooved semaphores.

Driven to Bad Camberg in 2015. Original Swedish paperwork. Swedish number plate and Wolfsburg 'birth certificate' are included.

Now for sale due to new project.
