At the intersection of luxury. custom. and unique is this 1982 Zimmer Golden Spirit.

With proportions and styling from the 30 s atop a Mustang chassis. it combines dramatic looks with all the modern conveniences. all at an affordable price.

It's classic Mercedes style with American flair.

The Zimmer Golden Spirit was a hand-built. limited production car that were expensive to buy new and cherished by the lucky few who could pick one up.

You can tell this was cared for just by the condition of the two-tone brown and beige that still look great today. especially with the coordinating elements such as the full-length pinstripe. covered spare wheels mounted in each fender. and even another on the rear.

This car was about showcasing its opulence. and today it has matured into a style all its own.

After all. where else are you going to find a car with a vinyl roof that matches the padding on the trunk very cool.

Plus the complete brightwork reminds us of the classic cars of Europe in places like the mesh grille. dual push bumpers. and side exhaust port decoration.

And this one even lives up to its golden name with the knock-off design on the shiny wire wheels.

This is no kit car. and so the donor Mustang's passenger safety cage. doors. and windshield were retained.

That gives it better build quality. but you still might not recognize the pony car's DNA when you step inside.

The Recaro seats cost a small fortune all by themselves. and they are covered in soft leather. The Mustang's gauges are fitted to the dash. but the round package in the burled walnut fascia give this the upscale and sporty feel that the Zimmer was perfect at portraying.

Even the gold steering wheel has a wood surround (protected in the pictures by a soft cover) to keep everything feeling luxurious.

Other factory features included power windows. tilt wheel. and cruise control.

But this one has been upgraded to more modern conveniences where it counts in places such as the CD stereo and air conditioning running R-134 a for easier servicing.

One peek under the hood will reveal the Mustang's famous 302 cubic-inch V 8.

That means while this car looks custom on the interior and exterior. it's simple and inexpensive to keep it running in top condition.

And when you take this out on the road you realize. that the previous owners have been quite diligent about keeping it strong and smooth (and it has averaged less than 2. 00 miles per year. ) The lengthened frame means it has the kind of luxury ride you'd expect from a car of this stature.

Plus. the Ford's three-speed automatic transmission. power steering. and front disc brakes all deliver modern security in a pre-WWII style package.

Zimmer delivered the custom car experience with the fit and finish of a factory product.

TERMS OF SALE

Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

A $500 Paypal deposit is required immediately upon selecting the Buy-It-Now option. The $500 Paypal deposit is non-refundable as ending an e Bay auction and not buying the vehicle is very damaging to the seller. Any refunds will be at the sole discretion of Streetside Classic Cars and are not guaranteed.

If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

For balance of payment we will accept bank wire transfer (preferred). cashier's check. or personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears).

Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure.
