Though I hate to do this. I have come to the conclusion it's time to sell my gorgeous 1959 Chevrolet El Camino.

I purchased this car 7 years ago from Arizona and still have the " '59ELC" Arizona plates & the AZ paperwork.

It starts right up. runs and drives perfectly! No knocks. taps or any odd engine noises at all. no smoke what so ever and the transmission shifts smooth.

Features & upgrades:

348ci  tri power engine with 4 speed manual trans on the floor.                                                                                                                                                   New steering box.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       New generator/power steering pump.                                                                                                                                                                                                New exhaust.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 New tie rods/ball joints etc.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    New brakes.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  New tires/wheels                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            New voltage regulator and various minor components.

It came with a diamond plate aluminum bed insert but I also cut a teak/holly piece that firs perfectly on top & is flush with the rest of the bed & it pulls right out (needs to be permanently attached before a highway run with a few sheet metal screws!!!)

The car was 90% restored & I planned on finishing the small stuff on my own which I mostly did but there are a few minor things left to do. Mostly small things like the top rear ceiling liner trim and the window regulators need adjustment. The only bigger thing that I can think of is the fuel gauge doesn't work. I believe someone started looking at it & when the tank is completely full. fuel leaks out of the gasket where the sender mounts. Either the sender is lose or the gasket is shot.

I have a box of parts both old and new including the tri carb linkage. It's running on the center carb now but it's an easy hook up. The car has TONS of power on one so I can only imagine what it'll do on all three!

For a handy "car guy" everything could be fixed over a weekend. To have someone do it. you would probably spend $1. 00 or so to make it 100%. I don't know how or why but I've lost interest and became overwhelmed with work. I simply don't have time any more. I'm a boater and I spend every moment I can with my family on the water. I had hopes of car shows & summer cruising in the Elk but it's not happening. I registered the car & have used it several times but I haven't even put 100 miles on it since I bought it.

You are welcome to come to Greenwich. CT to inspect it. If you are serious with deposit money in your pocket. you can take it for a ride. I am happy to work with long distance buyers & take specific photos if you need and help with transportation logistics. I had "Reliable Carriers" (Car experts) transport it from Arizona to Connecticut & it cost something like $1. 00.

Feel free to call and ask me questions from 9a. m. to 8p. m. Eastern time. 2039625494

Thanks for looking!

YES!! I forgot to mention that the car was refinished/painted just before I bought it. The paint is perfect & looks like it was just done. No waves. swirls. orange peel or any flaws. No signs of body work other than one tiny (smaller than a dime) bubble on the lower rear fender just in front of the wheel opening. You would never see it without someone pointing it out to you. The only sign of body work is the two floor pans behind the seat were replaced. No other signs behind/under fenders. doors or bed.
