1963 Austin Mini mk 1
Built on the 10 th of September 1963 and despatched the same day to Howells of Cardiff.
Originally Surf Blue with a white roof and later painted yellow. the paint has now been stripped to the bare metal revealing an excellent straight bodyshell. all the panels look original. there are a couple of bits on the wings/front panel etc that will need repair but the floors sills etc are excellent.
Fitted with a 1340 cc Howley race engine and full period 1960's roll cage. it was apparently rallied in the 1960's and 70's. some old competitor stickers are still present in the boot.
Cooper S discs. cooper s wheels.
Very rare (so im told) rokee dash !
At some time in the 70's it was "updated" with a mk 3 bootlid and mk 3 rear lights fitted. easy enough to change back to mk 1 spec though.
It runs and drives but there is no mot at present but cant really see anything major to get it through one.
Subframes look excellent
Will make an excellent and easy project to complete or just lacquer it and keep it "rat look"
Original transferrable registration number
I would expect serious buyers to either come and look or at least contact me to talk about the car.
