Classic Austin A30 Seven Black Very Original MOT and Tax Exempt NOW SOLD for sale

Sorry now sold.
A lovely little Austin A 30 2 door deluxe. I bought this for myself to use a year ago. a solid little car nice interior good chrome partly original paint but needs a few jobs to get it back on the road. It needs simple stuff like :-Wiper blades. rivers door handle won't open the door (needs lock repair). Both quarter light levers. Full set of tyres (perished)Brakes need doing. The engine is the original 803 cc type and looked as though it had been rebuilt as it is quite clean and painted but I tried to get it running and it was really slow to turn over and didn't even cough so I changed the plugs. points & cap and thought it was a good idea to turn the engine to the timing mark with the starting handle and soon realised it is tight to turn over so I pushed it back in the garage! I have had a few people looking at the car and everyone has said that the car is lovely but it would be better running so today ( 19 th July) I took out the plugs put WD 40 in the bores and after a few spins on the starter it freed off so I did a compression test and no 4 had no compression at all! I took off the rocker cover and no 4 exhaust valve was stuck open. I managed to free the valve and tried to start it but it coughed and popped but didn't start so I took out the new condenser and put back the old one and it started straight up with a drop of fuel poured down the carb. It runs for a short while the runs out of fuel but it sounds fine.
The fuel isn't pumping up to the bowl so might need a fuel pump.
This was unused for many years and I bought it a year ago as a non runner with good intentions of doing a few jobs to get it running and back on the road. I taxed and insured it straight away so I could park it outside until I cleared out an old wooden garage to keep it in. The number plate is the original and I have the logbook registered to me at my home address and it is transferable. The body is very good original condition and has some original paint left and has been touched up in places. The underneath is solid and unusually sound in all the weak spots it even has the original jig boxes under the front footwells. There is a letter from the 4 th owner detailing the cars history and it lists all the things it has had done in 1992. It states the engine had a full rebuild and the interior has had some work and the brakes were done loads of money too it's all in the letter. It was used mainly for classic car shows. The last time it was taxed was 1998 and has been stored ever since. The interior is great except for a split in the drivers squab. The mileage showing is 50. 00 and probably correct but obviously can't confirm this but there is a load of history tax discs and old MOTs that show the slow build up to it about 8. 00 miles in the last 25 years! I bought it as seen with the idea I would have it running and on the road quickly but the garage where I keep it has started to leak and the car is at risk so I'm selling the car to build a better garage to keep it in! The car is available to view any day as I work from home.
Cash on collection. I have a number of a guy with a transporter if needed.
