1970 Chevrolet Nova sleeper, street/strip car.

With great regret. due to sudden change in family circumstances. I have to sell my 1970 Chevy Nova. I was always hoping to keep it for long time but needs must.

It's a street/strip. sleeper (or whatever else you wanna call it). It had two owners in US. last one for last 30 years who I still keep in touch with. He has modified the car to race it but always wanted to maintain the factory look from outside and of the interior. When the car started running low 12s he decided to stop as going any faster would mean fitting the roll cage which he never wanted to do.  In last 6 months I have replaced the windscreen. front flexi brake hoses. weather-stripping around the doors and boot. headlamps to UK specs. driver-side chrome rear view mirror and power-steering hose. The car has no rust at all. not one bit. It still has its original paint with quite a few dents and scratches which add to the sleeper look.   Interior is in very good condition with everything working correctly. Two bench seats so registered for 6 people. Original spare wheel and jack in the boot. The car is fully registered and MOT'd until December.

Drivetrain is heavily modified and includes:

350 engine block. 4 inch standard bore

Cylinder heads – cast iron Chevrolet Bow Tie 64cc Phase 2. angle plug. stainless 2. 02 intake. 1. 60 exhaust valves. 1206 gaskets

Pistons - Claimer . 500 inch domes. 12. 0 compression ratio

Rods - Chevrolet X rods. polished and balanced

Crank shaft - I remember it to be standard measurement- not more than . 010 under

Oil pump - TRW high volume. with steel collared oil pump drive shaft

Camshaft - Elgin 1090 mechanical flat tappet . 537/. 557 lift. duration 287/295. dur. @ . 50" 256/264 on 106 intake center line. 106 separation. Valve clearance . 026 intake & exhaust hot.

Push rods - Comp cams standard length chrome moly. Manly studs & guide plates

Rocker arms- Comp cams magnum roller tip rockers 1. 6 intake 1. 5 exhaust ratio

Valve springs and retainers- 986-16 Comp cams springs. 1. 43 chrome moly retainers and 7 degree hardened locks

Rocker girdle - Crane valve train girdle

Double roller timing chain

Intake manifold - Weiand Team G wei7530

Carburetor- Carter 625 competition

Distributor- GM with MSD 6AL

Fuel pump - Carter high volume mechanical with lightweight push rod

Headers- modified for angle plugs. exhaust with 2½ inch tubing. early Flowmaster mufflers

Transmission - 1984 700 r4 Transgo shift kit. Corvette servo. 10 vain pump. 1987 up internals

Torque converter- TCI 3500 stall 31 spline with lock-up

Rear axle- 1971- 8. 5 ring and pinion 4. 10 ratio with Eaton clutch type locker

The car needs nothing (apart from paint if you like your cars shiny). it runs low/mid 12s. sounds like thunder and looks like a regular. old Nova. The car is running discs brakes at the front and drums at rear (manual brakes. no servo). I will include original servo with the car. The car drives totally fine on the street. If the car sells for asking price I will also include two wheels with rim screws and Hoosier tyres on them (visible on the last picture). I need cash so no part-ex please. I'm just outside Edinburgh.
