I sold this car a couple of years ago as a project car for my friend. In this time he has not found the spare time to do what he planned with the car. He has now realized that he will most likely not find the time and has decided to sell the car. The bonnet (both sides) and roof have been bare metaled and epoxy primed. but that is as far as he got.

Body wise the car is very good. panels are straight and clean with minimal rust. There is the typical Mustang rust in the bottom front of the doors and there is a bit on the inside of the drivers door down the bottom as well. It appears to have had a full Quarter panel (drivers side) at some stage of it's life but must have been done a long time ago. looks to be a factory Ford panel and has been installed properly. I would say it was from some sort of dent in the original. not a rust repair. the car doesn't appear to ever have been a rusty car. Floors and framerails are as clean as you will find. no rust. no repairs. framerails are square with no signs of damage. Under the car is quite impressive. it's exactly what you want to see if you looking at a car for restoring.

Mechanically the car starts up easily. does not blow any smoke or burn oil and runs quite well. We have changed the oil/filter and rebuilt the Carburetor. It could probably use a tune up but runs and drives ok for now. This car is being sold as is for restoration purposes but could be driven as it is with a small amount of money spent on it. I would say that the suspension rubbers. bushes. balljoints and brakes will all need replacing due to the car sitting for a while but these are quite easy things to do on this car. As I mentioned before this is the perfect little car for someone that's a bit handy and has the time to tinker with it.

Interior is all original down to the carpet as you can see in the photos. It could be easily freshened up with new carpet and seat covers or you could replace everything with new. The beauty is that all of the originsal bits are there and nothing has been messed with or butchered.

If you are looking for an honest car to restore I dont think you will find a more original little car. If you've been looking around you'll know that Mustang coupe prices have nearly doubled over the last couple of years and finding a good one isn't as easy as it used to be. Even in the States they are getting harder to find and the prices are skyrocketing. Heres how I see it. in the States for $5-$6. 00 USD you get a rusted out bomb that's lived the later half of it's life left outside in some paddock in Pittsburg. For $7-$9000 USD you get a rusted out bomb that has been repaired by Billy Bob using his old BBQ hotplate. sundays newspaper and a couple of old street signs. For $10-$12 k USD you'll get a nice little 6 cyl car and for $12 k-$15 k you get a really nice 6 cyl car or a driver quality V 8 car.

This car is easily $10 k USD if you could find one in as good condition. Calcualte this at . 72 . add the transport. shipping and GST cost and there you have it. you couldn't land it for the asking price.
