The TVR Tasmin or 200 is a sports car designed and built from
1980 through to 1988. It was the first of TVR's 'Wedge' series
which formed the basis of virtually all the 1980's range. The
styling of the car was by Oliver Winterbottom who had previously
styled the Lotus Elite S 2. Available as a 2+2 fixedhead coupé or as
a two-seater convertible. the Tasmin was the first production car
in the world to have both a bonded windscreen and also to
incorporate the aerial into the rear screen heater element. As with
all TVR's. the running gear was located in a tubular spaceframe
steel chassis which was powder coated for corrosion resistance.
This TVR is in magnificent condition and one of the best
examples we have seen. Clearly a highly cherished example. the blue
paintwork is unmarked as is the cream leather interior and we are
advised she 'drives as good as she looks' with no known faults.
Restored to her former glory. it is unlikely you will see a better
TVR Tasmin and this one benefits from the 3498 cc V 8 engine making
for a splendid drive. It comes supplied with a V 5 C registration
document. a current Mo T test certificate valid until
11 th October 2016 and a very comprehensive history
folder.
With summer just around the corner this TVR could be
a great way to experience wind in your hair motoring.
