When the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was released to the public in
October 1965. the development departments were showing the result
of work carried out over a period of some ten years. The new models
were technically striking in three ways. A monocoque chassis was
used; all wheels were sprung independently and four wheel disc
brakes now ensured stopping power of the sort that had come to be
expected in a modern car. Under the bonnet. the V8 engine that had
been introduced in the Silver Cloud series was employed.

With only three keepers from new. this charming Silver Shadow
was first registered on 5th March 1971 via HR Owen of 17 Berkeley
Street. London. The car has resided with the current keeper for the
last 18 years and is supplied with a large file of bills and
receipts including 18 old MoT test certificates with the earliest
dating back to 1982 and a current item valid until February 2017.
Showing only 42. 13 miles from new. it is supplied with a V5
document and a Service and Maintenance schedule booklet. a
handbook. a Sales and Service booklet. exhaust guarantee booklet. a
Jack Barclay Maintenance and Touring data brochure as well as hand
written notes dating from 1971 through to 2014 confirming the car's
mileage and service history. Finished in green with a contrasting
beige interior. this Silver Shadow represents a fine example of the
model.
