1979 Austin Mini 1000 for sale

The Mini was made by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its
successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a
British icon of the 1960 s with its space-saving. front-wheel drive
layout. allowing 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for
passengers and luggage. This influenced a generation of car makers
and. in 1999. the Mini was voted the second most influential car of
the 20 th century (behind the Ford Model T). This distinctive. br/>two-door car was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis and was
manufactured at the Longbridge and Cowley plants the very first
example. with the now iconic registration plate '621 AOK'. is on
display at the Heritage Motor Centre in Warwickshire.
Originally supplied by Wadham Stringer in Wiltshire on
27 th November 1979. this Austin Mini 1000 has been
restored to a very high standard. The vendor is a very
knowledgeable motoring enthusiast and he purchased the car for his
grandson. taking into account the cost of insurance for teenagers.
The car has been dressed to look like a much more sporty 'Austin
Cooper S' but underneath it all. AMW 213 V remains a pretty standard
Mini 1000. The grey coachwork is unmarked and the black interior
fitted with Recaro-style sports seats. The original service books
are supplied with the car together with a comprehensive history
folder the mileage of 57. 21 appears to be correct although not
warranted. A V 5 registration document is present. together with an
Mo T test certificate valid until 22 nd October 2016. This
Mini is in excellent order throughout and is very realistically
estimated given the obvious appeal of such a splendid
example.
