This is a car from my personal collection. It is a 1979 Ferrari 400GT Manual. one of only 28 made. making this one of the rarest Ferraris of them all! It is finished in its original colours of Rosso Nearco with Tan leather with Rosso inserts. It has a huge service history including original sales invoices etc and has just had a large service and a new clutch fitted at a Ferrari Specialist. In fact just over £3k was spent last month on the car and it drives perfectly and is ready for regular use. These large 4 seat manuall cars are a completely different beast to their Automatic cousins and provide a different experience altogether!

Launched at the 1976 Paris Salon. the 400GT re-affirmed Ferrari's determination to compete with the world's finest luxury saloons and was intended to attract the type of mature yet discerning customer who previously might have opted for a Bentley or Mercedes-Benz. a requirement that made the option of automatic transmission a necessity. Sadly. this splendidly equipped 2+2's biggest potential market - the USA - remained effectively closed to it because of the latter's stringent safety and emissions legislation. Even after its 4. 8-litre V12 received fuel injection in 1979. the model - now the 400i - remained effectively a Europe-only car. By the time production of the ‘412' derivative ceased in 1989. Ferrari's finest 2+2 had been in production for a remarkable 17 years. though its exclusivity meant that there were seldom more than 200 sold in any one year.

The vast majority of 400GTs was built with automatic transmission. which makes this five-speed. manual transmission. right-hand drive example - of just 28 such produced - something of a rarity and all the more desirable. The vehicle is presented in superb condition throughout. having been kept up and running regardless of cost at all the best specialists.

Built to the ultimate UK specification. this magnificent Ferrari Gran Turismo is offered with all books and tools. a great history. in a very rare colour. and at a price which belies the rarity of the car. try and find another in the current market!
