1956 Bentley S1 H.J Mulliner Six Light Saloon

1956 Bentley S 1 built by H J Mulliner Six light Saloon. Design 7401/ 7412 was the H J Mulliner bodied. all- aluminium alternative to the standard steel saloon Silver Cloud or S Type. destined for customers who still preferred individuality and the pleasure of a tailored. handcrafted car in the best English coachbuilding tradition. With a straight waistline and slightly prominent elegant rear wings. This design has the rear suicide doors with prominent top hinges.
Chassis number: B 38 BA was number 17 of 27 Bentley's built and features optional Power assisted steering. The coachwork is finished in the original Cardinal Red. The interior is trimmed in Tan hide with light Grey carpets. All the woodwork is in excellent condition including the rear picnic tables. As with the rest of this car the interior is totally original: the carpets have never been replaced and the seats never colonised. The original carpet has been covered for protection and remains in very good order. The latterly fitted. full length Webaso sunroof is fully operational and suits the car extremely well.

The Bentley is offered with a good history file including copies of the build sheets from H. J Mulliner detailing the specification and building. Recent work carried out includes a £23. 00 engine rebuild by Taylors UK Ltd. Chichester. completed November 2014. The file also includes other invoices for works carried out by Bentley specialists and past MOT test certificates.

A totally original example of this extremely rare and highly desirable Bentley which is one of just two for sale currently worldwide.
