Rover 3500s for sale
Current customer rating:
Rover introduced the V 8 version of the P 6 saloon in 1968 called the 3500. a designation it would carry until it was discontinued in 1977.
This luxurious saloon basically shared the body and most of the features of the smaller engined 2000 P 6 saloon that was introduced in 1963. including the de Dion rear suspension and four wheel disc brakes. however it was only available with automatic transmission to begin with. The successful Buick designed engine was already in use in the Rover P 5 B Saloon and Coupe giving those cars excellent performance. but in this lighter car it was even more impressive. In 1970 the car received changes to the interior and exterior trim in line with updates to the 2000 saloons. such as a redesigned front grille and improved instrumentation.
Then in 1971 the introduction of the 3500 S saloon with manual transmission.
The 3500 S benefited from improved performance proving popular with sporty drivers and even the Police.
This stunning example finished in Cameron Green is the nicest I have seen for years.
Continual maintenance including some restorative work means that she is beautifully presented inside and outside and on the road you can remember why these cars were so popular as a drivers car.
I have used her for a few days and probably for around 150 miles and can confirm that the S model is great fun with its slick gearbox and great performance whilst cossetting you great comfort with the sumptuous leather interior.
There is a good history file including photos and old mots etc.
What a good opportunity to invest in a rarity whilst been able to enjoy driving and using the asset.
