1926 Rolls Royce 20 hp Weymann Saloon
Chassis number: GMJ 74
Registration number: SV 9928
A delightful little car carrying its original faux cabriolet saloon body by Weymann. The car is pictured on page 307 of John Fasals authoritative tome: The Rolls Royce 20. The car was initially sold by Rootes Ltd of Devonshire house. Picadilly. It was owned by the Earl of Kilmorey in Northern Ireland who resided at Mourne Park in county Down.
The car is finished in maroon over black & has been carefully looked after by the last owner of more then a decade. To the interior is black leather to the front & rear in lovely well polished condition & good order. Black carpets complete the ensemble.
The car is a non division body well suited to an owner driver with adjustable front seats. It carries faux pram irons to the rear giving the appearance of a cabriolet body. Under the body it is clean & tidy & has clearly been well cared for. A large file of bills & correspondence comes with the car.
Mechanically the car is in fine order throughout with a lovely quiet engine & a delicate tactile feel to the controls. The car as a whole feels very taut & does not appear to have done a high mileage. The rear window is unusually large giving excellent visibility. To the rear is a commodious luggage trunk.
