Provenance. detail. perfection. An extremely rare and fun British wagon! I found this car in the fall of 2000 and was immediately impressed with its condition and originality. With a mere 86. 00 miles on the clock. this car had escaped the ravages of time. Stored indoors for many years. the typical rust problems found in the Farina-based BMC cars are not present here. Any surface rust was eliminated during the car's complete strip-down and $10. 00 re-paint in 2006. The sympathetic restoration was undertaken with an eye to originality. details and patina. All rubber seals have been renewed. The interior uses original seat facings. The ‘fuzzy' door trim has been replaced. The door panels are original. The intact headliner has been dyed to eliminate marks and stains. All carpeting has been renewed using marine grade material. The dash top pad has been rebuilt and recovered in Navy blue leather to match the exterior accent colour. The 1622cc engine runs strong (we drove the car from Halifax. Nova Scotia to Stowe. Vermont in 2007 for the British Invasion – 1400 miles. not a hiccup!) All brakes. hydraulics. electrical systems. wheels and tires restored. In a quest for just a little more drivability. an original MG Magnette Mk IV dual carb set-up has been installed. The carbs were rebuilt with new shafts. bushings. needles & jets The intake manifold. linkages. choke cable and air filters are all brand new. Many rare NOS pieces were used in the cars refurbishment. including front bumper. tail lamp units. lenses – most everything else is original. There are many period NOS accessories – such as shifter extension. exhaust deflector. reverse lamp and swept-back wing mirrors. The car comes with extensive original literature. including owners handbook. workshop and parts manuals. sales literature and much more. The car placed first in class at the 2008 British Car Days on Prince Edward Island. The car is ripe with details. like the rare stylized “Flying A” hood ornament. The brake & clutch pads sport the same “Flying A” logo. The steering wheel is perfect. all electrics function – including the AM radio (now. all you have to do is find a station still broadcasting!). This car has been lovingly restored to reflect its originality and uniqueness.
