The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was a luxury saloon car built from
1965 to 1980. It was the first Rolls-Royce to be constructed using
a monocoque chassis and. to date. has the largest production volume
of any Rolls-Royce. The original Shadow was three and a half inches
narrower and seven inches shorter than the Silver Cloud which it
replaced but managed to offer increased passenger and luggage space
thanks to more efficient packaging made possible by its
construction. Aside from a more modern appearance. the Silver
Shadow introduced many new features such as disc brakes instead of
drum brakes and independent rear suspension rather than the ageing
live axle design of previous cars.
This elegant example. complete with period Everflex roof. br/>presents in blue with a contrasting Champagne leather interior. The
exterior condition is described by the vendor as between nine and
ten out of ten in all areas with the engine and transmission being
in near perfect order.
In 2000. just after its acquisition. br/>it was thoroughly overhauled including a bare-metal re-spray in the
original Caribbean Aqua.
It has also been serviced every
year. most recently on the 9 th December. 2014. The service schedule
has been religiously maintained since 1999 despite the relatively
few miles travelled.
An Mo T test certificate is supplied
expiring in December of this year as well as the original sales
invoice and build specifications. Good order and good value.
