INTERNATIONAL BUYERS WELCOME: I accept any and all international buyers in this auction. however. it is your responsibility to arrange shipping.

This 300d has been regularly driven. accumulating only 53K miles so far which is backed up by the extensive service history. Purchased new at the Mercedes Benz dealer in Tokyo. Japan by the original owner who at the time was an Air Force Officer. He and his wife eventually came back to the states bringing the car with them to Florida where they lived for the next 10 or so years. Backed up by registration documents. They then moved to Georgia where they kept the car until now. Everything is original except the paint which was resprayed 30 years ago and amazingly still has a good shine and would look even better with a polish.

The history on this car is exceptional.

It comes with books. records. original rear side window storage bag. and an impossible to find COMPLETE tool kit.

The rear side window storage bag is for storing the rear side windows when they are removed to make this Adenauer a pillarless sedan. There is a picture with and without windows on the passengers side.

Mechanics: upon examination it appears car has been cared for very well! There is a newer mild stainless Mercedes OE exhaust fitted - 5 years old at most.

Everything works Headlights. turn signals. brake lights. electronic suspension raises and lowers flawlessly. alternator. wipers. blower motor. ALL gauges. glove box light and switch. and deafening original horns all function as intended. The only things that don't function are the radio and clock.

Compression: When servicing the vehicle we ran a compression test getting between 142-150psi on all cylinders. After speaking with a 300/gullwing specific expert we have discovered this engine to be near new in condition and the mileage to be correct. though we have complete paperwork backing up the mileage it was nice to have that verified. Exact compression readings from front to back are - 145/150/144/148/150/142

Steering is tight. doors. hood. and trunk close like bank vaults! This is a wonderful rare classic car that commands great respect.

Engine runs great with a complete service performed at E. U. Autoworks. tune up completed using original Mercedes parts including valve adjustment/Valve cover gasket. Spark plugs (Bosch W6DC). Wires and metal wire sheath. points/gap/dwell. Timing adjustment. Cap/Rotor. Injectors replaced. oil change 15-40 Shell Rotella. air/fuel/oil filters. Full chassis lube/all grease points done. The engine starts at temperatures below freezing with no stumbling whatsoever. It idles perfectly without missing at all. the steering pump drag compensator works flawlessly. the engine is smooth and has no measurable leaks of coolant or oil. Brakes were bled and function perfectly and the suspension just rolls over bumps with no clunking or creaking.

This car could be driven at this point without doing anything to it. or the cleanest Adenauer to start a restoration from a light cosmetic to a complete concourse.

Body: Body is in unimaginably good condition given the age. There are however rust bubbles on the bottoms of the doors from moisture and a small bit of rust under to door handle on the drivers door which is common. Undercarriage is quite possibly the best condition undercarriage of any similar vintage vehicle available with no rust. Under the fender wells it looks like a 5 year old car there is not even surface rust on the uncoated underside of the fenders. Trunk is beautiful also of similar condition and from lack of use is as close to factory correct as possible including spare tire and leather tie down strap with no damaged or missing pieces whatsoever. The patina is light and even throughout the vehicle. there are no surprises with this car.

In response to a couple questions I received about the white showing near the trunk and on the front fenders. That is the fender welting losing it's vinyl cover and the original white rubber showing from the inside. Welting can be gotten in almost any color from many sources. VW. Triumph. Fiat. Alfa Romeo. Jaguar. BMW. etc. A generous cost for this material would be in the ballpark of $50 for the whole car. The color of the car is original with no flaking paint.

Chrome: Bumpers and brackets are solid and look good . Two dings on middle of rear bumper. Some pitting and age marks on chrome around the windows.

Interior:  All original including the carpet. Front seats have some worn spots due to a combination of use and age but nothing unexpected. Headliner is great. Wood is original with no cracks. staining. or damage whatsoever. The original Becker Mexico does not work as stated earlier but it can be repaired by a radio shop for a menial charge as well as the clock - both minor nuisances.

This is a prized original 300d with top quality history in top quality survivor condition. a rare sight and an even rarer find. A car that will be coveted for generations to come and a solid financial investment. For any questions or requests for further information of any kind feel free to call Justin at E. U. Autoworks - 651. 342. 0928

Also need to add. I know of an excellent carrier who I use to transport some of my further afield customers vehicles. They are professional and careful which is hard to find. To ease the purchase I can arrange movement of the vehicle.
