For sale: 1963 MK 1 Lotus Cortina – Pre air flow
This car was rallied in the 60's and 70's and was later rescued from a scrap yard.
Since then it has had an extensive restoration.
Tax exempt
MOT will be done before sale.
The car has totally been stripped down and has the following:
Many new panels fitted.
Doors. bonnet and boot in excellent condition.
All paint work has been completed to a very high standard and original specification colours.
2 new floor pans.
All under sealed and waxed oiled.
The door panels are from later model.
Front and rear seats believed to be from a MK 2 1600 E Cortina.
Fitted front standard safety belts.
Fitted driver and passengers harness belts.
Fitted flow master roll cage.
Fitted centre column with clocks and switches.
Laminated window screen.
New heavy duty battery fitted in boot.
New petrol tank and sender.
Electric fuel pump.
Fitted with front and rear strut braces.
Springs on back.
Coils on front.
Running gear off a MK 1 3 litre Capri. fitted with remote servo.
Classic Minilite wheels.
Cross member designed and made for Pinto conversion.
Rack and pinion steering.
The engine is a standard 2 litre Pinto. fully reconditioned i. e. rebore pistons. shells. camshaft plus followers. cambelt. oil pump. water pump. a manual twin choke webber.
A 5 speed Type 9 gear box.
New clutch.
High quality electronic ignition.
Kenlow fan.
Electric screen washers.
4 brand new tyres.
Rear Lucus spot lamp.
Air horns.
The car comes with the original green card log book and a photocopy of the county council registration book. when the vehicle was first registered (as they didn't sell many cars back than and didn't have computers).
The car also comes with a folder with photos and documents of its history.
Need to do:
New rev counter (one in the car is a positive earth and it needs a negative earth rev counter).

Sale due to recovering from a heart attack and my Wife says I can only have one toy which is a 1972 Porsche 911 Targa which I have had for 25 years and could never sell.
