Toyota Blizzard LD10 FJ22 5-speed turbo diesel, extremely rare micro 4WD truck

A Blizzard in June?! Yes! I am a Cruiserhead with a barn full of 4WD Toyotas and this is my absolute favorite: a 1982 LD10 Blizzard 2-door hardtop 4X4 turbo diesel in original Toyota 886 blue! 10-digit VIN LD10004907. EXTREMELY rare in the United States--even more so in such good condition and equipped like this. The last one I could find referenced in a search was from 2009 which stated there were only three Blizzards in the entire United States!

The Blizzard is a not a true Land Cruiser (it was closest I could find in the eBay model list) although it has a Toyota designation of LD10/FJ22. It is a solid axle. leaf sprung micro 4WD Toyota. It is 10 feet long by 4 feet 6 inches wide! An FJ40 by comparison is 11. 67' long by 5. 46' wide. The Blizzard can slip through the tightest trails and park just about anywhere on the street!

In an interesting note. for import to the Australian market. all vehicles must comply with strict Aussie regulations and each one actually receives an official plate stating this. The Blizzard has the original government plate showing date of manufacture (6/82). the matching VIN and "This plate is affixed with the approval of the Australian motor vehicle certification board. This vehicle was manufactured by Toyota Motor Co Ltd to comply with Australian design rules. " See photos!

It is powered by the rugged little Toyota 2. 2L 4-cylinder "L" diesel engine with turbo fitted. This rig literally sips fuel. It gets around 32mpg in the city and a bit more on the highway. The L diesel engine was in early 80's American Toyotas so parts are easily had at your local Toyota dealer!

Has an aluminum 15-gallon second fuel tank installed but not plumbed. Hook it up and go 600+ miles between fill ups!

This Blizzard is the rarer "Deluxe" version (still has Deluxe badging on the truck. too) which means the rig was optioned with front and rear mud flaps. fender flares. upgraded dash. locking fuel cap. automatic glow plug warming system and more.

Gotta love that swept door design. So unique!

New battery. She fires right up with minimal smoke and runs beautifully. No oil leaks. Everything is good and tight and functions as it should. 162. 41 miles is only 5240 miles per year!

3" turbo exhaust. The rig is peppy!

It has the superior 5-speed manual transmission that replaced the original 4-speed and she sits on 65mph all day. A 2H/4H/4L transfer case handles 4WD duties.

Has 2" suspension lift and 1. 5" body lift.

Front disc brakes and rear drums work great.

Factory Aisin hubs.

31x10. 5 mud terrain tires ride on 15" Blizzard-spec wheels.

New windshield.

SAAS Sport drivers seat.

The Blizzard is in very good condition overall. There is a little rust in hood and on edge of rain gutter left side. very small spots on edge of door frame--see photos. Floor pans. body panels. frame are overall excellent. excepting dirt. surface rust and minor stains. Paint is in very good condition. Of course. the truck is not perfect. Flaws include the rust spots. minor scratches and scuffs on paint inside and out. t-case sometimes pops out of low (not 2H or 4H. however). no radio. a single door lock knob is missing. no headliner. cracks in fender flares.

The stainless steel snorkel is a work of art.

Extremely rare ORIGINAL factory Toyota Blizzard repair manual comes with the truck! PLUS. a factory Toyota engine repair manual for the L/2L engine.

The roof is like the FJ40. it extends upward for extra headroom. There are mini-LED lights on the side and center support rails which add a ton of bright lighting to the interior. Interior storage shelf above windshield can hold a CB/ham radio. maps. etc and also has speaker cutouts.

Original front carpet is in great condition and snaps to the floorboards. a unique system. Cargo area has new all-weather carpet.

Air conditioning consists of opening that totally unique in-dash vent door and letting in a blast of cool air! It works incredibly well!

Gauges in top pod are (from left) turbo boost. amps. temp. fuel. Main console: speed and tachometer.

Custom dual beverage holders!

Custom rock sliders.

Front winch-ready bull bar with two recovery points. Rear pintle hook.

Unique stand-alone reverse light in rear bumper.

Swing out spare tire carrier; spare can be padlocked for security.

This has been a great rig and taken me many places. Excellent off road and very economical to run. And. seriously. no. I mean SERIOUSLY. you will be mobbed everywhere you go. Everyone is fascinated by and loves this little 4WD Toyota!
