Here we have a recent barn find. 1956 Oldsmobile 88.

As you can see. the exterior body is solid and still has its chrome as well as its Rocket 324 V 8 and 3 speed Hydra-Matic transmission. The frame is quite solid and the only amount of rust through is in the rear floor pans and they should be repaired. This car is very valuable resorted ranging form $33. 00 to 38. 00 . there is one in hemming's for $33. 00
The 1956 Oldsmobile was the final rework of the new-for-'54 design. The grille and front bumper were now one massive piece of chromed metal in the shape of a jet air intake reminiscent of the 1953 Oldsmobile Starfire concept car. If that new front end treatment didn't give you enough of a hint where designers' minds were at. there was the massive jet-shaped chrome hood ornament with vapor trails bulging out of the hood--a carryover from 1955. For 1956. styling highlights included a new split grille in front and revised taillights and deck along with revised side chroming. Horsepower for the 324 Rocket V 8 increased to 230 for 88 s. this car is all original never tampered with
