Chrysler : Town & Country Newport for sale
Current customer rating:
One of 698 made. this was the last year for real structural wood (white ash).
The wood on this car was 95% good. but the metal rockers and outer floor pan area had extensive rust.
In 2006. we did a frame-off restoration to completely eliminate all rust. The chassis was repainted and all springs. shocks. fuel and brake lines. hoses. master cylinder. and exhaust system was replaced.
New rockers and body mounts were fabricated. and inner and outer fenders were replaced from a rust-free sedan.
New wood from
Town
&
Country
Restorations was fabricated.
The original Straight-Eight engine was also restored. and the radiator re-cored. Wheels were repainted and newer bias-ply wide-whitewall tires were mounted.
While waiting for the wood refinisher. the car was registered and inspected. and driven for the first time since 1969! Then came the recession in 2008. and most of the work stopped.
I have driven it over 1300 miles since getting it back on the road in 2007 (on sunny days only). Over 56 K invested. my loss. your opportunity. NOS bumpers go with this car. The seat covers have never been off the original seats. and the chrome & leather dashboard is beautiful. This car is near to completion. You can choose to paint the hardtop in either juniper green or the optional cream color.
We'll try again. I've lowered the reserve.
This could be a nice winter project.
