1973 450 SL

Up for sale is a very unique 1973 Mercedes 450 SL. It looks and handles like a regular 450 SL of the era but this one runs and stops like a Corvette. It has a modified TPI engine and a 4-speed auto transmission out of a 1990 Corvette. The front brakes are also out of a Vette. This car is an absolute blast to drive! The suspension feels very comfortable like you'd expect in a classic luxury car but this one has tons of power and can take off like a cat on carpet! This car has the best of both worlds combining timeless Mercedes styling with a definite sleeper under the hood.

This is an original black on black car. It also comes with a removable hardtop. The car is overall in good shape for a 40+ year old classic. It's never been in an accident and there are no rust issues anywhere. It does have some minor paint chips and small dents from average use over the years but nothing major and can definitely be enjoyed as is. The car still has the original soft top which is pretty worn now so it will need to get replaced soon. The interior is pretty clean and doesn't need anything. It has an aftermarket stereo system that sounds great. It has factory upgraded chrome wheels and newer tires with about 90% tread left. I was told by the previous owner that the engine had about 20 k miles and I've probably put about another 5 k in the time I've had it. Engine runs excellent and the car is very reliable. There are no oil leaks or mechanical issues of any sort.
