The Morris Minor was produced from 1948 until 1971. With striking looks and fine road manners. the Minor is still great fun to drive today. Early cars were side-valve. followed by OHV engines. first 803. then 948 and finally 1100 cc.
This car is a 1957 “post production” convertible that has been restored and upgraded to a very high standard. It has a 1275 cc “A” series engine that has been mildly tuned. married to a 5-speed Toyota gearbox. The suspension and brakes are radically altered with Ford prop-shaft and rear axle. up-rated leaf springs with trailing arms and “Spax” telescopic shock absorbers front and rear. It also has a rose jointed “A” frame attached to the body and the axle for extra stability. disc brakes front and rear with servo and a Ford radiator. The interior is more or less standard with front and rear seat belts fitted and the folding roof is in good order.
The body and underside are in beautiful condition and there is no rust. This is an older restoration in excellent condition and as you would expect. it goes and stops very well. The registration number is original and transferable. To build this car today would cost substantially more than the asking price so this Minor “hot-rod” offers great value!
