1925 Napier 16/22hp Colonial Tourer. for sale
Current customer rating:
1915 Napier 16/22 hp Colonial Tourer.
Chassis number: 3353
Registration number: KN 6034
A large and very imposing tourer in superb running condition. This Napier underwent a major restoration a few years ago & has since been little used. The 3. 2 Litre four cylinder engine starts readily & runs quietly with good oil pressure & plenty of power. An army favorite this car is believed to have seen duty as a staff car during the great war.
The car wears its original coachwork which is very large allowing for comfortable seating of all occupants. Indeed sitting beside a silver ghost the ghost looks comparatively diminutive. The Paintwork is cream & in very fine shape. Likewise the oxblood hide to the interior is very fine buttoned leather with matching red carpets. A beige mohair hood completes the ensemble. This is one of those cars that looks equally good either hood up or hood down.
The car has a capacious brass radiator. bass lamps & an assortment of brass fittings. It sits on beaded edge wire rims shod with 4 good tyres. The car is Veteran Car Club dated (certificate number 385) as being of 1915 origin.
The car is a pleasure to drive once one remembers the gears are the exact opposite of conventional with first found where one might usually expect to find fourth etc. In short this is a car needing nothing & is ready for extended summer use. The fuel delivery system is by air pressure necessitating hand pumping prior to starting This being made very easy if the car has been put away full & consequently has little air to be displaced to build pressure. The car starts of an electrical starter making it easy to get going.
