The 300 4-door sedan (practically a limousine) appeared in late 1951. The 300 C. built from September 1955 through July 1957. brought more carburator improvements and an automatic transmission option. a first for Mercedes-Benz. 300 s were miles ahead of other luxury cars in engineering and taste. Besides show business personalities and heads of State. they were owned by refined persons who preferred to avoid the ostentation of Rolls-Royce or a Caddilac. This is a rear example of the best 300 C automatic addition. The car was kept for many years in Texas. In early 2000 was restored. completely repainted. seats were re-upholstered in genuene leather. A lot of parts re-chromed. New stainless steal ehause system. new white wall tires placed. The car is 90% complete. Needs a new battery and and ignition key was lost. Original engine and transmission. Was not driven since 2009. The car has clear title.
