This listing was started on Sat. evening and is now complete. Thank you for your patience.

This listing is by Sherman Auto Sales. Inc. in Fenton. Mo. 63026. We are a 68 year old family automobile dealership.

We are fully licensed as a Mo. dealer. My name is Mark Sherman. I am the owner of our company and will be glad to discuss this car in detail with anyone over the phone at . This 1948 Chevrolet FLEETMASTER COUPE is an amazing original example of a car of a very solid car that and has been mostly untouched and is an Original Survivor. The best way to start this description is to say this car being so original. extremely solid. a very desirable 2-door coupe. mechanically sound. low mileage. and a clean and proper Mo. title. that this car is a wonderful candidate to do almost anything you would desire to do. This car would be excellent for restoration due to it being so complete and original - A modified Street Rod - or just leave it as a true survivor and show and enjoy it the way it is. This is a true time capsule car. The mileage on this car shows 69. 11. and I genuinely feel this is the actual mileage. Everything from the details that will be listed in the description. to my years in the car business. make it very easy to feel the mileage is true.

#1). Purchase History: I purchased this car from the 2 nd owner. This car was originally from Nebraska. The Mo. title that it is issued on shows Nebraska as the previous state. The person that sold the car to myself had owned it since 2009. The Mo. title is very proper and the VIN plate which is always on the right door jamb of the 48 models is proper and correctly matches the title. This person had planned to make this into a street rod. but could never make the changes as it was such a true original car. I was told that the master cylinder. brake hoses. and wheel cylinders were all addressed when he made the purchase. From under the car. you can see some of these new items. The brakes and emergency all work very properly and are road worthy. He had changed the oil and had used a 10 w 30 wt. The car was started with minimal work and has remained that way until now. There is an Oil sticker on the door jamb from 2005 in Nebraska that states 64. 79 miles.

#2). The appearance of the car is very original. To most people this is NOT a very pretty car as the paint has faded and worn down to primer showing in many areas. The seats are very dry and do have some tears. The door panels are the same way with staining over the years. **IF YOU CAN LOOK PAST THIS - THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING UNTOUCHED AND COMPLETE CARS YOU WILL EVER FIND. I spent the day on Sat. just having fun with this car and going over details that will be listed below. THIS IS A TRUE TIME CAPSULE CAR.

#3). Selling information: This car is available for any type of inspection. This listing only allows 24 pictures. I have many more on my computer that will show any other details that one might want to see and can shared with a sincere buyer.
*All proper paper work and transfer will be completed by our company. We are a licensed Mo. dealer. The car is being sold on a clean Mo. title.
*Our company does NOT charge any type of documentary fees when we sell our cars.
* Our vehicles are sold As-Is.
*This car is for sale locally at our dealership. If the vehicle is sold. the selling dealer has the rights to close this listing.
* My direct cell number is . I will be pleased to discuss this car.

#4). Specific details of this vehicle:
*The paint is original in color. It is green in color. There are many areas where the paint has worn away and all you see is primer. This will show in the pictures.
*The body and underside of this car are rock solid. The body lines are still amazing. The fit of all the panels is very good.
* There are 2 small rust spots that are on the side of the left and right front fender. They are minimal.
*There is a bent spot where the left quarter panel has folded under on a lower edge close to the tire. This can be seen in the pictures. This appears that someone might have jumped a curb at one time.
* The bottom of the car has surface rust only to all the steel parts that were exposed. There is NOT a patch panel or repair on the underside of the car.
* The rear springs still are factory wrapped with the metal shackle covers.
*There is a very light tappet noise from the engine. This is very minimal.
*The motor sounds very strong and performs nicely.

There is the tiniest amount of an engine misfire on idle. It is not an actual miss. nor does the car misfire at all upon acceleration. This is so minimal and may just be from sitting. The fuel smelled fine and it burned nicely. Most older cars have fumes from old fuel and the way they run. THIS CAR DOES NOT.

The car starts with just pumping a few times. I never did need to use the choke operation.

*The shifting was proper. This car originally had vacuum shifting. that has been disconnected.

*I drove the car quite a bit on Sat. The clutch felt good. but I feel it should be adjusted. It did not chatter or slip. My thought was once you shift to 2 nd or third gear. you would get a slight gear rub. like the clutch was not engaging fully. If you double clutched it. it was very smooth. I am not a mechanic. but I feel my thoughts on the adjustment are proper.
* One front vent glass is cracked and one side view mirror is also cracked.
* The original key with the factory code is still with the car and has never been punched out.

* All door locks and. ignition. and trunk work as smoothly as possible with this same key. I never thought to check the glove box lock.
* THIS CAR HAS NO INTERIOR ODOR AT ALL.

* All lights work properly
* The odometer works and records properly. The speedometer needle has broken off. so the speed does not show.
* Horn works and the steering wheel is still in amazing condition.
* All window operation is very smooth and shows no wear. The rear sliding windows as well as the vents with the sliding locks are the same way.
* I wound the clock and it kept proper time for the hour that I was watching it.
* The original radio light came on. The radio did not play. The antenna had been removed and is in the trunk. There was a piece of black tape already in place to cover the antenna hole.
* The dash oil. charging. and temp gauge DID work. The fuel gauge when I put in fuel stayed at the 1/2 tank position and did not move.
* I put in 10 gallons of fuel with lead additive on Sat. The tank dripped for a few moments from the top and then stopped. There might be a vent or line at the top that caused this to happen. It only did this for a moment. The car being in my garage at home since Sat. night has no gas fumes at all.

* This car was not an oil leaker. It left one tiny spot on the floor. about the size of a silver dollar.
* Glove box has original lining with light that still operates. The original owners booklet and service information booklets are with the car.
*All the original window door handles and knobs show nicely.
*The door panels are completely original. They do have staining and wear.
*The seat handle operates as smoothly as can be.
*The car had a factory under the seat heater. that has been disconnected.
*The cigarette lighter still worked properly.
*All the ash tray doors had sliding lids that moved properly.
*The seats and all trim is very original. but is brittle and has tears.

*The wood graining on the dash and doors has minimal wear. but still has great color.
*This car has the very desirable hood ornament with the clear plastic. The plastic does have some crazing.
*Under the hood it is very original.

The car has a high dollar 6-volt Delco battery. The tie down was not on the battery. but is in the trunk.
*The hood release operates properly and locks very easily.
*The rear fold-down bumper guard works properly. but was missing the lower bolt that secures it to the frame. It still works nicely.
* The cars showed that it had front and rear bumper guards. that are not with the car.
*Wipers work properly.
*I removed the spare tire for pictures. The floor is rock solid. It has surface rust only.
*This has an original cloth covered spare wheel cover that I have never seen before. It is factory and the cloth is correct.
*The trunk has all original cardboard and even the mat. There is a tear in the mat. The car has a small hydraulic jack with fold out handle. lug wrench. and special bar. to remount tire from rim. The jack items are quite old and I feel they are not original.

*All insulation under the trunk lid is original.
* The cloth pieces in the trunk under the card board are still in place and are very original.
*The front floor mat with the carpet inserts is original. The rug in the back is original. All this is very dry and brittle.
*The original Fisher Body tag on the passenger side of the seat is still attached.
*The black rubber sills that are part of the running boards when the door is open are still very nice.
*The switch for the heater under the dash is all in place. but the fan did not operate.
*The tires drove fine on the street. but they are quite old and have cracking.
*The vehicle drove extremely well on the highway. The front end was very solid and even with with the narrow tires drove great. It did not have play in the steering.
*I changed the oil on Sat. to a straight 30 wt. Non-detergent Valvoline oil. I have always used non-detergent in my cars that do not have oil filters. This car was never equipped with an Oil Filter Assembly from the factory.

#5) In conclusion. I have tried to list everything about this car that I know. I know my listing is lengthy. but I wanted to be as specific as possible with details. If a person will read this entire description. they will not be disappointed. Please feel free to call with any questions.

.

"THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TRUE RARE FINDS. IT IS VERY HARD TO FIND A CAR THAT HAS NOT BEEN MADE OVER IN THIS AGE BRACKET". THIS IS AN AMAZING CAR.

**CARS ARE ONLY ORIGINAL ONE TIME. TRUE SURVIVORS ARE VERY SOUGHT AFTER AND ARE VERY HARD TO FIND.

Thank you.
Regards. Mark Sherman
