1983 Mercedes Benz 380 SL Roadster 74K mi Red Chrome Spoke Whls All Orig Ex Cond

Chrome spoke wheels and chrome accents are striking against the red paint. The Michelin X tires have less than 10K miles on them and look new. The spare is original (see picture) and appears to have never been on the vehicle.

Everything works including: all gauges. electric windows. cruise control. original Becker radio and electric antenna. instrument lights. interior lights and heating/air conditioning system. I do not use the AC so it has not been charged recently but when I had it charged last in 2010 if was very efficient and just about froze me out of the car. The windshield is original MB. There is a small stone chip/crack on the lower right side of the windshield that has been professionally repaired with epoxy and is warranted. It was there when I purchased the vehicle and is completely stable.

The vehicle is registered in Pennsylvania and recently (April 2014) completed an annual safety inspection without any issues. It is completely road worthy and great fun to drive.  

The gray leather interior is in excellent condition. No tears. rips. punctures or stains. There is some wear evident on the left side of the driver's seat. The seat controls work properly and cabin carpets and floor mats are spotless as is the trunk liner.

The original matching red hard top is in perfect condition and comes with a storage rack and cover. The convertible top was replaced before I purchased the vehicle in 2010 and still looks new. The rear window is crystal clear. The car comes with a Wolf cover. NOTE: The cover does have about a 6" tear in the fabric at the left. rear corner where it fits over the bumper.  

This vehicle has always been garaged and meticulously maintained. The original manuals. tool kit and my maintenance records accompany the vehicle.   I stored the vehicle in the winter and have included my Deltran Battery Tender with a quick disconnect lead from the trunk to the battery.  

The small block V8 is fast and quiet and very fuel efficient getting about 20 MPG around town and 24+ on the highway (although I rarely take it on the interstate). It's a great ride. purrs like a kitten and turns heads everywhere it goes. There is a small oil drip/seep but I change the oil every 12 months and it's not enough to measure on the dip stick.  

Please note the 100% clean AutoCheck report that reflects a clear title (which I have in hand). correct odometer reading and a very high score (65 vs. 19-36 average) compared to similar 1983 SLs.

We are downsizing and moving to a condo with a two car garage. As a result we're looking for a good home for this classic Mercedes roadster.
