Classic Mini Cooper S Mk3 1971 Morris

For sale a Genuine Mk 3 Cooper S. Fifth from last chassis number. so a very late model. Number available on request. White with black roof. Registered 01 August 1971 (K reg).

Car is sold as a project. It was fully restored in 1992 and has done less than 3000 miles since. Car has always been garaged. it was last TAX'd n MOT'd in 2002. since then it has been partially rebuilt with a number of new items. a lot of paperwork and bills to support the car. Car owned by myself since 1988.

The car will need to be trailered away. it is not road legal. Please ensure this can happen before 01 June or after 09 June until 20 th June. Sale is related to a house move so pick up has to be as soon as possible.

I will take a 20% deposit and the rest on inspection by the buyer. deposit refundable for genuine reasons with the car. Car available in HA 5 postcode (NW London/Middlesex) Details: Bodywork - As stated the car was fully restored in 1992. it has seen little use since. The bodywork throughout is in excellent structural condition. No new panels or body work items will be required due to rust or corrosion. The paintwork will need attention to bring it up to a high standard. The front drivers wing does have a dent as a result of a piece of wood falling on it while stored. The car will be supplied with a genuine Rover boot lid (not shown) sprayed in a matching colour. this is new and never fitted. Suspension - Original Hydrolastic suspension fitted with additional front shock absorbers. In working order. Chrome work - Supplied with original bumpers with later overriders fitted. these could be removed to restore the bumpers to original condition. Car will be supplied with Mk 2 grill (Grill and rear bumper not shown in pic) Glass - Replacement toughened front screen fitted. all other glass original Wheels - The car will be sold with steel Cooper 4. 5 J reverse rims. Tyres are legal as fitted. These are fitted more for transportation purposes. See my other add for genuine 4. 5 J Minilite wheels.

Glass - rear window has original heated matrix (Not working) Interior - original carpets can be supplied. interior is partially refitted with replacement carpet. Additonal sound deadning fitted to interior. Car has original 130 mph speedo. aftermarket steering wheel of the period. Original back seats. Car can be supplied with later Recaro seats if required with correct fixing frame.

Engine - Engine was extensively rebuilt in 1992. Re-bored to 1310 cc. fitted with lightweight slipper pistons. Kent 286 cam. center oil pick up pipe. additonal crank strap. hardened crank. increased valve sizes (sorry dont have sizes). reprofiled inlet and exhaust ports. When rolling road tested in early 90's it was producing 95 bhp. Comes with original air box. Engine has turned by turning crank pulley. not sure if it will need to be stripped. Original mechanical distributor fitted Fuel system - Twin tanks. both original . fitted with brand new twin 1 1/2 SU carbs (never used). electric fuel pump.

Cooling - Brand new upgraedd Mine Spares radiator (Three core from memory) polyurethane bottom hose (brand new). replacement heater pipework fitted. Oil cooler with car (not shown in pics). Six blade metal export cooling fan Exhaust - Copper freeflow exhaust. LC 40 exhaust (not fitted on car) Manifold is wrapped with heat tape Brakes - Servo available (not fitted). new Mini Spares grooved front disks. Minifin rear drums. Brake cylinder was replaced sometime ago. calipers are original. they have been fittedt with replacement seals and stainless teels pistons. I expect these will need attention.

Clutch - Lightened flywheel and upgraded clutch Lights - Uprated Quad Optic front headlights (so much better than original) Clear indicators with orange bulbs. original rear light clusters.

Overall car is in excellent condition. needs some attention to get it roadworthy and possibly a partial respray. Note it has not been on the road for ten years. however it has been stored in a ventilated wooden garage giving it an excellent storage environment
