1967 Volvo 122S Amazon Wagon with Overdrive for sale
Current customer rating:
This is a 1967 Volvo Amazon 122 S Wagon with laycock overdrive.
With the overdrive this car is a great highway cruiser with the addition of great MPGs.
I drive this car on the interstate quite often and with the overdrive it has no trouble doing so. The paint on the car is very good and looks great on the outside except there is a crack in the windshield on the drivers side.
The engine has an upgraded intake manifold and a downdraft Weber carb.
The engine runs beautifully with great oil pressure and starts easily every time.
The interior of the car is where it needs the most attention. The headliner. it is good enough condition for a driver. there is small tear in it near the back of the car in front of the tailgate.
The driver's seat is starting to come apart in the seams and the although the rubber floor mat in the front of the car is in great shape the rubber floor mat for the rear passengers is falling apart. Inside the floor of the cargo area is a spare tire. jack. and a rebuilt generator.
To use the overdrive unit which is just a two speed automatic transmission that mounts on the rear of the four speed transmission you just push the red button on the dash to shift up.
The light above the switch will illuminate letting you know the overdrive is active and to downshift you just hit the button again.
On the dash the ribbon speedometer and fuel gage work great.
The engine temp has been moved to a set of three gages under the radio including oil pressure and battery voltage.
A working tach is also mounted to the above left hand of the dashboard.
All of these things let you monitor that the car is working perfectly.
The stereo works great and contains a cd player.
There are four speakers in the car two up front and two in the rear.
This car is a real head turner and would be great if someone wanted a car they could use regularly.
There is a small bit of rust in the rear of the rear wheel tubs which would be easy to fix if you chose to and is the only thing that would be visible without getting under it.
The rear drivers side passenger floor looks to have been patched.
In the very rear of the car there is some rust around the inner panel where the fuel tank filler tube goes through and then some in each rear corner way up behind the rear bumper on the inner panels. The car is structually sound and all the doors open and close like they should. This car would be great to just leave as is and enjoy for many years.
A coupe version in the same colors with overdrive just sold on ebay for quite a bit showing how much interest there is in these cars today:

Comments and questions to the seller:
from Fred W Johnson, dated 30 november 2019Where are you located? How is the tailgate? Would a windshield be readily available?
from Brian De Grego, dated 22 november 2019
Wish I had the 122 wagon I owned in the 70's. Do they come with Automatic, We no longer can drive a manual.
I would be interested in Purchasing and adding it if possible.
Do you have any idea of cost fix rust?
anything she needs we will have to have done, no longer working on cars. Sadly we can no longer play take apart.
