1984 AUSTIN MINI MAYFAIR WHITE Amazing Condition

Hi.

Classic Mini. This car started out as a 998cc mayfair automatic. It has now been fitted with a very low mileage 1275 metro engine and manual gearbox. The car has covered only 33000 miles and the engine has covered approx. 23000 only.

The car was renovated about 18 months ago to a very high standard. The bodyshell is in amazing condition and only needed very minor repairs bring it up to its current standard. The floors. sills etc are all totally original and rust free. The only welding that was done was a very small patch repair to one inner wheel arch and a small repair panel was fitted to the boot floor where the boot seal must have leaked in a bit.

Both subframes were removed. cleaned and painted and rebuilt with all brand new components. All suspension is new with adjustable hi lo's all round. Brakes are all new as is radius arms. ball joints etc.

The interior is a one off with the front seats originating from a ford KA. They are fully adjustable and very comfortable indeed. the door cards and rear seats have been covered in matching dark grey material. The carpets. steering wheel . gear knob etc are all as new condition and the interior looks and feels very high quality. The radio fitted has a built in dvd player and will play cd's dvd's  mp3's etc.

The wheels are in great condition with no visable scuff marks or scratches and 2 front tyres are brand new and the rears have only done approx. 2000 miles so again are as new. When the tyres were fitted the car went on a 4 wheel alignment machine and tracking was set up etc. The car runs true and straight. (no crabbing at all).

The exhaust is an LCB manifold with a twin box system fitted. It sounds great and is not too loud. I have however refitted a standard air filter as the K&N was a bit noisy for me. The K&N is available if required.

The engine came from a 1 owner metro knightsbridge with only 19000 miles on it. This Has been cleaned. painted and fitted with a brand new electronic distributor. I took the head off just to check the condition of the bores etc and all was good. This engine and gearbox are both standard apart from the final drive diff. I replaced the original 3. 44 diff with a 2. 9 :1 ratio unit . The speedo drives were also changed to suit the new diff so the speedo reads correct. This change vastly improved the driving experience with the car now much more comfortable at motorway speeds. The only other change engine wise was the carb needle. This was changed to suit the exhaust set up and the car runs sweet.

The exterior was resprayed in old English white with a graphite black roof. The wood and picket arches and boot number plate light are matching black. All door and window seals are new also

The car is currently on a sorn notification but has full mot. Passed with no advisories. (obvious when you see the condition)
